Crypto is often perceived as cold and intimidating. How might we design a crypto trading platform that fosters trust and transparency for older demographics in Western markets, moving away from tech heavy aesthetics toward something warm, recognizable and beginner friendly?

With a nostalgic and easy to use interface, BitPixel should help beginners safely buy, sell, and learn about digital assets, helping bridge the gap between classic finance and the future of money. Looking at the current crypto market, everything felt indistinguishable and lacked character. My goal was to introduce a brand with familiarity and vibrancy. I drew from the aesthetic language of vintage camera and sound equipment advertisements to create a visual identity that resonates with a modern generation while maintaining a grounded retro inspired familiarity.
I specifically chose the visual language of analog machinery, volume knobs, and heavy switches because these objects imply control. In a crypto market that feels chaotic, giving users this UI that looks like a physical control panel psychologically reinforces the feeling that they are in the driver's seat, not the algorithm.

Utilized "Vibe Coding" methodology with Gemini to create backend logic and rapid prototype UI components which allowed me to focus on UX and complex D3 integrations
Custom interactive data viz built with D3.js to simplify complex market trends. With the assist of VS Code and the Agents available, I was able to transition from the "Vibe coded" prototyping of Gemini, and focus on specific areas of codes that I needed to iron out for logic. Later pushing commits to Github.
